All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or when you collect your vehicle. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire Telford, drivers must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, and drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit must also be provided, alongside any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be made via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Telford office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. At the time of vehicle pickup, full payment and a security deposit are usually required. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. It is expected that the vehicle is returned in the same condition as when it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges may be applied accordingly. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level; otherwise, refueling charges will be assessed. If you anticipate being late in returning the vehicle, please contact us promptly, as late returns may incur additional fees. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance, with full details and excess amounts outlined in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless covered by additional insurance. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of the insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ depending on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of rental vehicle:
- The vehicle must not be used for illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Users must adhere to passenger and weight limits and remain within designated geographical boundaries unless prior authorization is obtained.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Telford is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, nor for any loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our liability for any claims is capped at the total amount you paid for rentals in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts in this jurisdiction.
